About the Event Resource Office

Office Overview
The Big Bear Valley Event Resource Office, which is located at the Visitors Center in the Village, is Big Bear’s top location for events information and resources. The Office was originally established through a collaborative effort of the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, the City of Big Bear Lake, the Big Bear Lake Resort Association, and the County of San Bernardino. The main goal of the Office is to increase economic development by bringing more people to Big Bear by promoting and actively seeks new events for off peak periods. The Office is run by a board of representatives from the contributing agencies and organizations and meets bi-monthly. This collaboration is very unique and demonstrates Big Bear’s desire to support its tourist driven economy.

Mission of the Event Resource Office
It is the mission of the Event Resource Office to enhance tourism and economic activity in Big Bear Valley by attracting new events and providing support to event promoters, with an emphasis on off peak periods.

Big Bear Chamber of Commerce (www.bigbearchamber.com)
The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce was established in 1947 and continues to serve the entire Big Bear Valley. The Chamber is a membership driven non-profit organization that is a run by a 16 person elected Board of Directors.
As the leading business association, the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce is an assertive, independent advocate of business interests for its diverse membership, exercising its influence valley-wide, regionally, and beyond, to:
    • Promote a strong local economy
    • Promote the business community
    • Represent the interests of business to government
    • Provide networking opportunities
    • Political Action

The Big Bear Lake Resort Association (www.bigbear.com)
The Big Bear Lake Resort Association is a voluntary membership-based organization charged with marketing Big Bear Valley. Marketing programs include television and radio advertising, broadcast promotions, publicity, Internet, Central Reservations and collateral materials, including the Big Bear Lake Visitor’s Guide, Dining Guide and the Big Bear Lake Adventure Passport. Big Bear.com is a key source of information for Big Bear Visitors, whether it’s for lodging accommodations, activities, attractions, events, weather updates, road conditions or to request a free Visitors Guide.

City of Big Bear Lake (www.citybigbearlake.com)
The City of Big Bear Lake is a four-season resort located in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest, approximately 30 miles northeast of San Bernardino. Serving a population of approximately 6,500 residents, the City covers a 6.95 square mile area on the west end of Big Bear Lake’s south shore.
Big Bear Lake is a great place to live, work and play! Both full-time residents and second-homeowners have found our unique mountain setting enticing.
