Event Support
Want to hold an event in Big Bear?

The Director of Event Resources will serve as your “point person” to help you hold an event in Big Bear. The ERO is your source for scheduling a visit to Big Bear, reviewing potential event venue sites, facilitating meetings, and working through the permit process so you have a successful event. Our support services include:

  •  Community Master Calendar – This online calendar has the most up-to-date events information for Big Bear and can help you find the best date to hold your event with the least amount of competition.

  •  Event Resource Guide – The Guide was created as a tool for all of your initial event questions and contacts for Big Bear. In the Guide you will find City and County contact numbers, sponsorship information, local media contacts and deadlines, and marketing and press release information, to name just a few. The Guide is completely free of charge and can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce Monday-Friday.

  •  Events Liaison – The ERO is the acting liaison between the City of Big Bear Lake, Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, and the Big Bear Lake Resort Association for events held in Big Bear. The Office is your voice to help get you through the permit process, as well as scheduling meetings with City, Chamber and Resort Association officials and departments.

  •  Finding Local Services for Your Event – The ERO is the best place to start any inquires into locating the services you need for your event. For example if you need staging equipment, port-a-potties, or other event production services the ERO is the best location for referrals.
Community Support

Besides offering many key services to help bring new events to the Valley, the ERO is also focused on education and support for our local volunteers and event producers. The following are two events the ERO organizes to provide such support:

  •  Event Organizers’ Conference – Held during April every year, the ERO produces a free half-day conference to educate local event producers on the new advances in the events field, as well as build awareness on tactics, procedures, and tips to build a better event. Past Conference topics have included corporate sponsorships, event publicity and marketing, City permits, and finding ways to revitalize yearly events. This Conference is Big Bear’s primary way to stay current with the events industry and learn new ways to do an event.

  •  Event Calendar Planning Meeting – Held in November every year, the goal of this meeting is to help our signature events and organizations coordinate their events and bring any new events to the table. Pretty much we want to know what events will be taking place in the upcoming year so there aren't any scheduling conflicts and to have an accurate calendar to market.
